Ways to Get Around

Brown University Shuttle (B.U.S.) is a safety-oriented transportation service offered to the Brown community – students, faculty, staff, and affiliates who have a Brown ID. Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) students may also ride using their RISD ID.
The State of Rhode Island and the State of Massachusetts both provide a vast network of public transportation throughout both states.
Zipcar and Lyft Concierge contribute to the range of mobility options available to the Brown community and its guests. Beyond traditional transportation avenues, these car and ride share services are designed to provide convenience and flexibility.
As part of Brown's commitment to alternative transportation options, the University provides resources and promotes programs related to bikes and scooters.

Parking

Brown’s parking lots and facilities are available to active employees, emeriti, medical and graduate students. Permits for visitors and contractors are also available based on availability.
Visitors to Brown have both garage and street parking options, with ADA spaces available. Departments can also purchase Visitor Parking Passes for specific lots.
To obtain employee parking, faculty and staff must go through a waitlist process in Park@Brown, the University's online parking system.
Brown provides parking options for medical and graduate students. A limited number of spaces are also available for undergraduate accessibility parking.
