Visitor Parking

Visitors to Brown have both garage and street parking options, with ADA spaces available. Departments can also purchase Visitor Parking Passes for specific lots.

Visitor Garage Parking

College Hill visitors may utilize the upper level of Lot 68 self pay Visitor Parking garage, also called the Power Street Parking Garage. Jewelry District visitors may utilize the Richmond Street self pay garage.

College Hill visitors may find parking in Lot 68 Upper, also called the Power Street Parking Garage, located at 111 Power Street. The entrance to the garage is located at the intersection of Power and Thayer Streets.

The Lot 68 Upper garage contains two pay stations, which are located at the front and rear of the garage. Please locate an empty parking space, purchase your visitor parking permit via one of the pay stations and place your receipt permit on your vehicle dashboard.

All Day Rate until 6:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday)  $15.00
Weekdays after 6:00 p.m., weekends, holidays  $2.00/hour

The daily flat rate of $15.00 is valid for the calendar date of purchase only and does not allow for overnight parking. If you need overnight parking or require a permit for more than one day, please contact the Transportation Office at (401) 863-3157. The pay stations accept credit cards and U.S. bills, the pay stations do not supply change so please use the exact amount of bills for the parking transaction. Please allow plenty of time for parking, as the visitor lot is a few blocks from the Campus Center.

Jewelry District visitors may find parking in Lot 222, also called the Richmond Street Parking Garage or the Medical School Garage. The garage has two entrances. There are entrances on Eddy and Elm Streets.

Individuals can purchase parking in the garage for $18 a day (hourly also available). The garage is open from 6:00 AM until 10:00 PM 7 days per week. A debit or credit card is required for payment--no cash is accepted.

ADA Visitor Spaces

Brown maintains visitor spaces that meet ADA standards for accessibility in Lot 65, which is located on the south side of Benevolent Street between Thayer and Brook streets.

Any valid state ADA placard can be utilized in any ADA space in Lot 65 to park for free.

NOTE: A Brown University-issued ADA permit is required to park in an ADA space in any other University parking lot.

Visitor Street Parking

If Brown University visitor parking is unavailable, visitors may find metered parking on the streets in and around campus. Parking meters in Providence do not accept cash or credit cards, payment is made using the Passport parking application. The Passport Parking App allows you to conveniently pay for parking from anywhere using your mobile device.

Please pay close attention to on street signs that are marked for Brown-specific spaces, as these are reserved for Brown employees only and require a specific Brown daytime employee parking permit. Visitors may not park in these spaces. Cars parked in these spaces without employee Brown University parking permits may be ticketed and/or towed at the owner's expense.

Departmental Visitor Parking Pass

Visitor Parking Passes may be purchased by departments for parking in Lot 2 - Nelson Fitness Center, Lot 57 - 75 Charlesfield, Lot 68 Upper - Power Street Garage - Upper Level or Lot 76 - Horace Mann. The visitor parking rate is $15/day. If you are a department looking to purchase visitor passes, please complete the Visitor Parking Pass Request Form.

We do not issue refunds for Departmental Visitor Passes.

Please do not request visitor passes outside of a seven-day window.  We cannot accommodate requests more than seven days into the future.

NOTE: The pay stations do not allow for department-validated rates. The rate is the same for all visitors.
