Transportation

Bikes and Scooters

As part of Brown's commitment to alternative transportation options, the University provides resources and promotes programs related to bikes and scooters.

Biking

A green alternative to driving, biking is wonderful for your health and the air you breathe.

Brown has bicycle racks in convenient places all around campus, offers bicycle registration to discourage theft, has a student group renting and repairing bikes called Bikes@Brown, and is working with various civic groups to help promote cycling in the city of Providence.

Bike Safety

If you think your bike has been stolen, contact the Brown Department of Public Safety at 401-863-3322.

To discourage theft, we highly suggest registering your bicycle with the Department of Public Safety. Additionally, U-shaped locks are an easy way to secure your bike, as cable locks are much more susceptible to cutting and facilitate theft.
