Car and Ride Share
Zipcar
How Does Zipcar Work?
- Join: Download the app or apply online. It only takes a few minutes.
- Reserve: Reserve a car for a couple hours or an entire day. Reserve online or use a phone.
- Unlock: Walk to the car, then just hold your Zipcard to the windshield. The doors will unlock, and it's all yours!
- Drive: Drive away... and return to the same reserved parking space at the end of your reservation. It's that simple. And remember, gas and insurance are included, too.
Visit the Zipcar website to learn more and join the program.

Lyft Concierge
The Lyft Concierge program is a service that provides transportation to and from the University for participants in University research, academic, summer programs, and guest speakers, and only for university business. The program cannot be used for staff or faculty traveling for the University. All riders must be 18 years old or accompanied by an adult.
Any staff or faculty member who needs transportation outside of the approved guidelines for the Lyft Concierge program -- and transportation cannot be accommodated by Zipcar or RIPTA -- should pay for the car services and be reimbursed by the department.
